The Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team plays in another huge game on Saturday, with the Alabama Crimson Tide coming to Lexington. The Wildcats are in need of a win, but the game will be a tough one.
Kentucky comes into the game having lost earlier in the week to LSU after blowing a 15 point second half lead. The Wildcat defense was the main issue, and will be tested by the Crimson Tide. The Alabama offense is tremendous, averaging 91 points per game, the most in the country. They are also second in the country in made three-pointers per game. The 13th ranked Tide will give the Kentucky defense the ultimate test.
The Wildcats defense took a huge step backwards against LSU, allowing far too many easy shots and failing to rebound effectively. Kentucky’s offense can score point for point with Alabama, but if they allow the Tide shooters to get good looks, it will be a long day.
Kentucky has had a knack for getting up for big games this season. They’re 3 – 2 against ranked teams, and in one of those losses (Kansas) they had a lead in the final few minutes. Saturday will provide yet another big test for the Wildcats, and it comes at a time when they’re trying to bolster their NCAA Tournament seeding. It will come down to the defense. If they show up, they can beat anybody, but if they play like they did versus LSU, The Tide will roll.
Here’s how to watch and listen to the Kentucky versus Alabama game.
