Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope led his all new roster into their first exhibition game of the season on Wednesday night. The Cats took on Kentucky Wesleyan, giving fans their first look at the players they’ll root for in 2024-25.
It ended up being an impressive debut for the Wildcats. They started hot and never looked back, rolling to a 123 – 52 victory. They played fast, shot the ball well, and scored a bunch of points, showing off Pope’s offensive game plan for the season.

Jaxson Robinson led eight Wildcats in double figures with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting. He also made five three-pointers. As a team, Kentucky was 21-of-42 from deep.
Otega Oweh also had a big night. He made 7-of-9 shots and scored 18 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Ansley Almonor made 5-of-7 three-pointers and scored 15.
Overall, it was a fantastic night for Kentucky basketball and the new-look Wildcats. Fans hope there will be more to follow.
