Kendrick Nunn, Ja Morant have been named NBA Rookies of the Month

Kendrick Nunn and Ja Morant were named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month for games played in October and November.

Miami Heat guard Kendrick Nunn and Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant were named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month, the league announced on Tuesday.

Nunn averaged 16.4 points, 3.2 assists and 1.3 steals for the Heat in games played during October and November. He is currently third in scoring average and has the most field goals and 3-pointers among all rookies.

Meanwhile, Morant posted 18.6 points, 6.4 assists and 1.4 steals for the Grizzlies. He leads all rookies in scoring average and assists to this point of the season and has looked to be arguably the top first-year player.

Nunn has been a revelation this season and is a big reason why the Heat are off to a strong start. The undrafted product from Oakland has put in the work and is taking advantage of his opportunity.

Nunn has been nominated twice for Player of the Week.

Morant is likely the front runner for Rookie of the Year at this point but will miss a period of time after aggravating back spasms suffered after taking a fall into a courtside camera operator last week.
