Jonathan Stewart shares thoughts on racism, supporting Bubba Wallace

Here’s what former Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart shared on Twitter regarding this despicable incident and racism in general.

George Floyd’s death one month ago has spurred antiracist protests across the United States into a worldwide movement. While some progress has been made to address the issues raised by his murder, it’s obvious there is still a great deal of work to be done to erase the injustices in our society.

On Sunday, the sports world got a stark reminder of that when a noose was found hanging in the garage of black NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace at Talladega.

Here’s what former Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart shared on Twitter regarding this despicable incident and racism in general.

To their credit, NASCAR recently banned the flying of Confederate flags outside of their events. That spurred several NFL players to share a renewed interest in the sport, including Panthers safety Tre Boston.

Rejecting acts of hate like this one should not be considered a politcal act. We here at Panthers Wire believe in being on the right side of history and support Stewart, Wallace and anyone else who has suffered the effects of systemic racism.
