Jeremiah Hunter among PFF’s top graded Big Ten receivers

Pro Football Focus thinks highly of Washington wide receiver Jeremiah Hunter, ranked the 7th-best returning receiver in the Big Ten.

The Washington Huskies lost a trio of wide receivers to the NFL after their historic 2023 season. Rome Odunze was drafted by the Chicago Bears, Ja’Lynn Polk by the New England Patriots, and Jalen McMillan by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But Pro Football Focus has one Husky graded as a top ten talent in the new look Big Ten at the position.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, PFF revealed that Washington’s Jeremiah Hunter is the No. 7 highest-graded returning wide receiver in the conference, with a 2023 season grade of 75.1.

Hunter, of course, is not a “returning player” in the traditional sense, having played at California in 2023. But neither were the first two players on the list – Dymere Miller transferred to Rutgers from Monmouth and Elijah Sarratt transferred to Indiana from James Madison this offseason.

Regardless, it’s a good sign for the Huskies, who will have to replace the production of Odunze, Polk, and McMillan somehow. Hunter spent the spring mostly working with the second team, but that seemed to be more about getting younger players reps and giving freshman quarterback Demond Williams a veteran target than a real indication of Hunter’s place on the depth chart.

Once fall camp opens, fans should expect Hunter and Denzel Boston to be the starters at wide receiver on the outside.
