The Miami Dolphins destroyed the Carolina Panthers 33-10 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium to move to 5-7 on the season.
Great performances from Jaylen Waddle and Jaelan Phillips were big reasons for the victory in Week 12. Waddle put up 137 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions to lead Miami’s offense. Phillips had his best day as a pro as well, totaling four quarterback hits, three sacks, and a batted pass despite playing just 51% of the snaps.
These days were good enough to earn both players nominations for the NFL’s Pepsi Rookie of the Week award. They join New England’s Mac Jones, San Francisco’s Elijah Mitchell, Denver’s Patrick Surtain II, and Denver’s Javonte Williams as this week’s nominees.
This is Waddle’s fourth nomination this season and Phillips’ first. Both are having great rookie years and have a big hand in the Dolphins’ four-game win streak and overall turnaround.
