In a recent interview with CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning, star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown opened up about his initial dislike for Marcus Smart when they were both on the Celtics. However, Brown now considers Smart a close friend and someone he would go to war with.
The Georgia native discussed the growth and maturity that allowed him to understand Smart’s perspective and develop a deep bond with him. Brown and teammate Jayson Tatum, who were initially quiet players, have embraced more vocal leadership roles with the Celtics. They have learned to appreciate Smart’s leadership style, which includes being in-your-face and confrontational. The chat with Brown sheds light on the growth and development of his relationship with Smart.
