Jared Goff earned a leaguewide award, and the Detroit Lions fans played a part in helping the quarterback win.
Goff won the FedEx Air Player of the Week for Week 15, the league and its sponsorship partner announced on Wednesday. The Lions QB lit up the Cardinals defense for 216 passing yards and three touchdowns on 21-for-26 passing in Detroit’s 30-12 win over visiting Arizona.
Fan voting carries Goff to the win, his first-ever since joining the NFL in 2016. He beat out Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes for the Week 15 honor.

Fun fact: the first person to ever win the FedEx Air Player of the Week Award was none other than former Lions QB Joey Harrington. That happened in Week 1 of the 2003 season and also came in a win over the Arizona Cardinals.
