Jamel Dean draws comparison to Pro Bowl cornerback

Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans compares the former Auburn star to one of the NFL’s best defensive players of recent memory.

It is always flattering to receive a compliment. It is even better to be compared to one of the NFL’s most dominating players of recent memory.

On the latest episode of the Richard Sherman Podcast, hosted by five-time Pro Bowler Richard Sherman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans stopped by to talk about an array of topics including Tom Brady’s return to the team and to share his thoughts on how he predicts the Bucs season to pan out.

During the podcast, Evans talked about how excited he is to see former Auburn cornerback [autotag]Jamel Dean[/autotag] on the field this season and even compared his athleticism to that of the podcast’s host.

“Dean’s physical at that line, man. He’s really good at the line. He’s kind of like you (Richard Sherman) at the line, a long guy that can run,” Evans said. “His ball skills aren’t as good as yours. He’s faster. He’s super fast, man. Dean had a really good camp.”

It was announced earlier this week that Dean had won the second cornerback job for the Buccaneers defense and that he will be starting opposite another former Tiger, [autotag]Carlton Davis III[/autotag] when they face the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday to open the season.
