The NBA and NBPA announced Friday that they have finalized a comprehensive plan for a restart to the 2019-20 season at a single-site campus at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida.

The restart will begin with each participating team playing eight “seeding games.” The NBA announced Friday night the complete game schedule for the seeding games with the New Orleans Pelicans and Utah Jazz set to tip off the season restart July 30 at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies, who were in eighth place prior to the suspension, are among the 22 teams set to restart the season at the Wide World of Sports Complex. Depending on how they perform, they may have to participate in a play-in tournament for the eighth seed.

Should the Grizzlies qualify, Morant has a chance to make a bit of history.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Morant has a chance to become just the third rookie in NBA history to lead a playoff team in points and assists per game, joining Michael Jordan (1984-85) and Elgin Baylor (1958-59) to accomplish that feat.

The Grizzlies project to have a tough eight-game schedule in the seeding games, as they face three teams fighting to stay within distance of the play-in tournament right out of the gate. By no means are the Grizzlies a lock for the playoffs but if they can hold off the others, Morant could find himself in some rare company.
