Is a major deal about to happen with the San Antonio Spurs? Fans of the storied ball club were elated when the team’s front office elected to take University of Kentucky point guard Rob Dillingham at No. 8 overall after the team had picked up University of Connecticut combo guard Stephon Castle at No. 4 in the draft.
But that elation was short-lived when news quickly broke of San Antonio dealing away Dillingham for future draft assets, leaving some fans confused. But if this asset play was not for a future opportunity via draft or trade, could it be to collect assets more amenable to a blockbuster trade partner?
