It was only a matter of time before the rest of America woke up and realized just who Cooper DeJean is and what he brings to the table for a team. The Iowa Hawkeyes and their fans have long known how special of a talent he is. That same sentiment is now making its way to national outlets.
Ahead of the 2024 NFL draft, which will be hosted in Detroit, Michigan on April 25-27, DeJean’s draft stock has only seemed to climb. The star cornerback and explosive returner is shooting up draft boards and is a mainstay in the first rounds of NFL mock drafts.
The latest to laud Cooper DeJean’s talent is Pro Football Focus. Connor Rogers of PFF has DeJean sitting all alone at the top of his 2024 NFL Draft CB Rankings.

Just behind DeJean is a group of three supremely talented cornerbacks that could all see their names called during the first round. Those are Clemson’s Nate Wiggins, and the duo of Terrion Arnold and Kool-Aid McKinstry out of Alabama.
The 2023 unanimous All-American, Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year, and Big Ten Return Specialist of the Year is as versatile as his awards. DeJean can lock down one side of the field, change games in the blink of an eye on punt returns with the ball in his hands, and quite possibly his best trait, is understanding the game of football at an extremely high level by downing punts and understanding situational plays.
