The Iowa Hawkeyes are right back on the board in the 2024 class, grabbing a commitment from Show-Me State star Joseph Anderson.
The 6-foot-5, 210 pound EDGE and defensive end pledged to the Hawkeyes and in doing so represents the 17th commit in Iowa’s 2024 class. Anderson chose the Hawks over offers from fellow Power 5 programs Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, and Vanderbilt.
Anderson also had offers from Army, Ball State, Bowling Green, Colgate, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Southeast Missouri State, Tennessee State, Toledo and Wyoming.
Out of Westminster Christian Academy in Saint Louis, Mo., Anderson was an all-district and all-state selection. He registered 54 tackles, nine tackles for loss and six sacks last season in his third year playing football.
Following June official visits to Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa, a landslide of predictions from recruiting experts came in forecasting Anderson to join the Hawkeyes’ 2024 class. Now, the forecasts have morphed into reality.
“I’m grateful to God to announce my commitment to play football and run track at the University of Iowa!” Anderson wrote in his announcement.

Anderson joins a 2024 class that also features Cedar Falls EDGE Drew Campbell and Brophy College Preparatory EDGE Devan Kennedy. With its 17 commits, Iowa’s 2024 class is currently rated No. 27 nationally by 247Sports, No. 30 by On3 and No. 32 by Rivals.
