How Bo Nix’s Week 8 performance compared to other Heisman contenders

Bo Nix had over 450 yards of total offense and 6 TDs on Saturday. How did that compare to the other Heisman front-runners and what they did in Week 8?

After the Oregon Ducks’ statement win against the UCLA Bruins a week ago, it was pretty clear and obvious that the nation couldn’t continue to ignore what Bo Nix was doing in Eugene. It wasn’t just his 5 touchdown passes 22-of-28 passes, but rather an acknowledgement that this veteran player was putting together a season that has rarely been seen up in the Pacific Northwest, and now that he’d done it against a highly-respected defense, it was deserving of national attention.

That thrust Nix into the Heisman Trophy race, where he jumped up to the sixth-highest odds in the nation. He followed up that showing this week against the California Golden Bears, doing so in impressive fashion.

Nix threw for 412 yards and 3 TD with a 77% completion percentage. He also added 59 yards on the ground, plus three more touchdowns. I don’t care who the opponent was, that’s impressive.

But how does it stack up compared to the other Heisman contenders? We wanted to take a look at some of the other stat lines across the nation. Let’s see how Nix’s Saturday compares.
