In the midst of a nine-game losing streak, the New York Giants opened up as 3.5-point favorites at home against the Miami Dolphins.
In a game where it looks like quarterback Eli Manning will be back under center once again, the Giants remain 3.5-point favorites entering the weekend, according to BetMGM. The over/under has been set at 46.5, two points lower than it was when the lines opened up.
At one point, many believed the Dolphins would go winless this season. With the Giants just 3.5-point home favorites, it goes to show how disappointing this season has been for Big Blue.
Manning is 3-0 in his career against the Dolphins and even has one of his few rushing touchdowns against Miami when the met in London in the 2007-2008 Super Bowl season.
The Dolphins are playing solid football in the second half of the season and will give the Giants a tough task on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Since starting 0-7, the Dolphins have won three of their last six games. The last time the Giants were favorites, they lost to the Jets, one of the teams the Dolphins have beaten this year.
Pat Shurmur’s destiny may already be determined but it would be nice to see the team fight hard going into the final few games. The loss to the Eagles on Monday gave Eli Manning a career regular season losing record. Certainly, Manning will go out and try to win a game for Big Blue as he always does; business as usual.
The crowd could get behind Eli Manning as this could be his final home start in a Giants uniform. Hopefully, he can come away with a win for Big Blue.
