Georgia State Panthers Season Prediction, What Will Happen

Yeah, Georgia State beat Coastal Carolina, and it came this close to getting by Auburn – it was closer than the 34-24 final. But most of those eight wins last season were against a slew of mediocre to awful teams.

That’s how it works, though. You’re supposed to beat the mediocre to awful teams. If it was so easy everyone would do it.

But here’s the problem for a Georgia State team that might just be the best it’s been since coming into the FCS – the Sun Belt is better.

Set The Georgia State Panthers Regular Season Win Total At … 6.5

At South Carolina, North Carolina, Coastal Carolina, at Army, at Appalachian State, at Marshall. Realistically, there isn’t a sure-thing loss on the slate, but those six are going to be rough.

As good as the Panthers are, it would be great if they could win three of those, fantastic if they could get four, and look out if they pull off five.

They’ll probably be favored in two, if any.

If this is going to be any sort of a great season, Charlotte, Old Dominion, ULM, and at James Madison have to be wins. Georgia Southern should be a win, but that’s more like a 50/50 game, as is the trip to Southern Miss.

In other words, going bowling again won’t be a problem – the team is too good – but there just aren’t enough 100% slam-dunk wins on the slate to think this will be easy.

Come up with a few early upsets over the first half of the year, though …
