Following a 22-19 overtime win over the Texas Longhorns in the SEC championship, the Georgia Bulldogs are on a bye week and will return to the field in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1. Georgia is 11-2 overall and 7-2 in SEC games. The Bulldogs won’t play again until the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.
Georgia plays the winner of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish versus Indiana Hoosiers in the New Orleans, Louisiana. The Sugar Bowl will be televised on ABC.
Georgia needs all the extra time it can get to prepare for the Sugar Bowl with quarterback Carson Beck expected to miss the game. The Bulldogs are moving forward with Gunner Stockton as their starting quarterback.
The only regular season college football game on Dec. 14 is the Army versus Navy game, which is always one of the best games of the year. There is also a bowl game between South Alabama and Western Michigan.
