The Seattle Seahawks surprised the NFL last year, and no surprise was bigger than the high quality play of quarterback Geno Smith.
Smith, widely expected to either be a backup to former Broncos quarterback Drew Lock, or struggle, turned heads left and right. Smith proved to be a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback and even won the Comeback Player of the Year award.
But if you’re listing those who were surprised by this, don’t include Smith. His confidence in himself has apparently never wavered, and shared this on his Instragram story over the weekend.
I think it’s safe to say Smith called his shot and it paid off, quite literally. Now Smith is the bonafide starter in Seattle, and it looks as if he has found his permanent NFL home.
