Gators booted from ESPN’s bracketology bubble

Another bubble burst by Florida’s first Quad 3 loss of the season on Saturday.

Todd Golden’s Florida Gators have been in a free-fall since the season’s highwater mark win over the Tennessee Volunteers on Feb. 1. Now halfway through the month, the Orange and Blue’s position on the NCAA Tournament bubble has taken a severe hit as the team is now firmly outside of the Big Dance looking in.

The latest bracketology updates following the home loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday have been bearish on the Gators, allowing Florida to slip off their respective bubbles as time winds down for the regular season. Among those was ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, who had the Gainesville gang in the very last spot of his previous bracket predictions but cut bait with the struggling program in his most recent update.

Next up for Florida are the Ole Miss Rebels, who come to Gainesville to take on the Gators inside the O’Connell Center on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST and can be either watched on the SEC Network or heard on the Gator Sports Network.
