The final four teams are set for the 2023 2023 NCAA women’s gymnastics championships finals on April 15. The two teams with the highest score from each session of the semifinals advanced to the finals.
In session 1, LSU and Florida punched their tickets to the finals. After session two, Utah and Oklahoma join the Tigers and Gators for the finals on Saturday.
UCLA led through two events and then Oklahoma took the lead in the third rotation and UCLA dropped to third. In the fourth rotation, Oklahoma cemented their place in the finals, but UCLA and Utah kept neck and neck until the very last routine. Jordan Chiles from UCLA scored the first perfect 10.00 of the day on her gorgeous bar routine. Utah threw the score right back at UCLA when Maile O’Keefe scored a perfect 10.00 right after Chiles.
Utah was laser-focused in the final rotation and overtook everyone to conclude the night with the highest score of the night and of both sessions with a 198.2250. Oklahoma took the second-place spot, with a 198.1625, and will advance to finals.
The finals will take place on Saturday, April 15th at 4 p.m. ET on ABC.
