Former WR, RB among new Texas Athletics Hall of Honor inductees

The next Texas Hall Of Honor class will feature 13 former student-athletes and one former coach.

The University of Texas announced their latest Hall of Honor inductees on Wednesday morning.

The next class will feature 13 former student-athletes and one former basketball coach. Wide receiver Jordan Shipley and running back Jamaal Charles lead the 66th men’s Hall of Honor class.

The 21st women’s Hall of Honor class includes five athletes, each from a different sport. The men’s class includes eight athletes from football, basketball, baseball and golf.

In Texas athletics director Chris Del Conte’s weekly newsletter, he stated how honored and proud he was to share the exciting news with the former players over the past several days.

“It’s a proud group of Longhorns, and they were all thrilled to be selected to what is among the greatest honors anyone associated with Texas Athletics can receive,” Conte wrote.

The newest inductees into the men’s Texas Hall of Honor are:

D.J. Augustin (Basketball, 2006-08)

Jamaal Charles (Football, 2005-07)

Brad Elder (Golf, 1995-98)

Jordan Shipley (Football, 2006-09)

David Thomas (Football, 2002-05)

P.J. Tucker (Basketball, 2003-06)

Glenn Blackwood (Football, 1976-78)

Rick Bradley (Baseball, 1973-75)

Tom Penders (Basketball head coach, 1988-98)

The newest inductees into the women’s Texas Hall of Honor are:

Alexandria Anderson (Track & Field, 2006-09)

Erika Hansen-Stebbins (Swimming & Diving, 1990-92)

Juliann Faucette Johnson (Volleyball, 2007-10)

Kasey Moore Powers (Soccer, 2005-08)

Heather (Schreiber) Stark (Basketball, 2001-05)
