Well, that didn’t take long. We told you that four-star defensive end, London Merritt, who had been committed to Ohio State since March, pulled out of his verbal pledge just a few days ago. On Thanksgiving Day, we found out Merritt has now committed to the Colorado Buffaloes.
Merritt is a product of IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, and is the No. 13 rated edge rusher according to 247Sports composite ratings. The de-commitment leaves Ohio State with just one pass rusher in the class, Zion Grady, after Zahir Mathis pulled out of his pledge just a few days ago. Grady is rated as the No. 5 edge in the class.
It always stings to lose a recruit, but the Buckeyes still have an outstanding class in line for 2025 with hopefully a few more to add.
