Former Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah has season ending surgery and shares some positive news

Former Ohio State DB Jeff Okudah always finds the silver lining in any circumstance. The Lions’ corner had surgery but shared positive news.

Jeff Okudah is one of the best to ever play the cornerback position at Ohio State. He was a highly rated recruit coming to the Buckeyes and got better in each of his three years in scarlet and gray, eventually becoming the third overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

Unfortunately, the first pick of the Detroit Lions has been dealing with a strained groin muscle for most of the year, and maybe even further back. Yesterday, Okudah had season-ending surgery to fix the problem that has been ailing him in hopes of being full strength for the beginning of the 2021 NFL season.

Okudah has always been a guy to find some silver lining in any circumstance. Along with his announcement about the surgery and impending rehab, he shared this bit of news:

“On a positive note, I’m offically a graduate of THE Ohio State University.” Okudah wrote

It was a promise Okudah made to his family after leaving OSU for the NFL after his junior year. What a great example for young athletes everywhere. Your body might break down at any time, but you will always have your education. Congratulations Jeff!
