Former Longhorn, Jaguars WR Collin Johnson questionable against Steelers

The Jacksonville Jaguars are banged up at the wide receiver position prior to their Week 11 stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars hope to have every weapon at their disposal on Sunday as they prepare to face the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11.

Former Texas wide receiver Collin Johnson has been a pleasant addition to the Jaguars’ receiving corp. this season. The 6-foot-6, 222-pound athlete was selected by Jacksonville with the No. 165 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Although Johnson was buried behind a handful of other players on the depth chart to begin his professional career, the fifth-round draft pick found a way to contribute immediately. Throughout the offseason, numerous images and videos surfaced on social media of Johnson sticking out from the rest with insane acrobatic catches throughout practice.

Johnson has since appeared in every game for the Jaguars this season and is averaging 9.9 yards per reception. The big-bodied redzone threat hauled in his first career touchdown reception against the Houston Texans on Oct. 11.

Jacksonville released their official injury report on Friday prior to their Week 11 stint with Pittsburgh. Johnson is now designated as questionable for the contest due to a hamstring injury.

Jaguars rookie wide receiver Laviska Shenalut Jr. will be missing his second consecutive game due to a hamstring injury and tight end James O’Shaughnessy has already been ruled out for Week 11.

With Johnson and Sidney Jones IV both banged up this week, Jacksonville is hurting at the wide receiver position. If Johnson is able to suit up and play, he’ll certainly have an increased role.
