Last month, former Kentucky Wildcats pass rusher Josh Allen signed a massive new deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Just a month later, a different former Kentucky football star has signed a new contract as well. Veteran pass rusher Bud Dupree is signing with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Dupree played for Kentucky from 2011 to 2014. In his four seasons in Lexington, he totaled 39.5 tackles for a loss and 25.5 sacks, including 9.5 is his final year. He was then drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 22nd overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
It didn’t take long for Dupree to establish himself as a solid player, and he had several seasons in Pittsburgh before signing a big free agent deal with the Tennessee Titans. Last season, he played with the Atlanta Falcons.
Dupree with join new Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh in Los Angeles. The contract, per the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, is a two-year deal for up to $10 million. Big Blue Nation wishes Bud Dupree the best in his new home.
