Former Duke sharpshooter Jaden Schutt committed to Virginia Tech on Saturday evening, according to a report from On3’s Joe Tipton.
Schutt, a four-star prospect coming out of high school, played 14 games for the Blue Devils as a freshman in 2022-23. 20 of his 28 shot attempts came from behind the 3-point line, and the Illinois native finished the season with a 35% conversion rate on his triples. His best game came against Maryland Eastern Shore when he scored nine points after converting all three of his 3-point attempts.
The 6-foot-5 sophomore redshirted this season after he underwent surgery early in the season. He did not appear in a game for Duke during the 2023-24 season.
Schutt becomes the sixth of seven Duke transfers to commit to a new school. Two of the others also stayed in the ACC, with TJ Power committing to Virginia and Christian Reeves committing to Clemson.
Junior guard Jaylen Blakes is the last remaining Duke transfer without a new destination.
