Former Auburn wideout could be traded before season

This former Auburn Tiger may be on the move.

As cut-down day for the NFL approaches on Tuesday, teams are looking to get rid of players any way they can to come to the final 53-man roster before the season begins in two weeks. That includes trades, and one former Auburn player is (once again) up for grabs.

Former Auburn Tiger and current Giants wide receiver [autotag]Darius Slayton[/autotag], who was reportedly on the trade block earlier in the offseason, is once again on the market as preseason comes to an end, as reported by Adam Schefter. Slayton didn’t play in the Giants’ second preseason game against the Bengals, but got very few reps in their last game against the Jets.

Slayton himself seemed to be wary of his status with New York when talking to reporters after the game, seemingly unsure of whether or not he will make the final roster.

“I don’t know. I don’t really stress about it too much,” Slayton said. “At the end of the day, if it’s meant for me to be here, I’ll be here. If it’s not, I won’t.”

Last year, Slayton caught 28 receptions on 56 targets for 339 yards and two touchdowns. At Auburn, Slayton caught 79 balls for 1605 yards and 11 touchdowns across his entire career as a Tiger.
