Floyd Mayweather can’t help being Floyd Mayweather. And it isn’t always good.
The retired fighter, nicknamed “Money,” took a shot at former rival Canelo Alvarez over the 11-fight, $365 million deal the Mexican signed with DAZN in 2018. That figure evidently is peanuts in Mayweather’s eyes.
He made nine figures for his fight against Manny Pacquiao and then again when he met MMA star Conor McGregor.
“If I’m not mistaken, Canelo got something like 11 fights … for 300 something million. I got that in one night,” Mayweather told FightHype.com, referring to the McGregor fight. “I got that in 28 minutes. You know, I got Canelo’s entire contract in 28 minutes.
“I made over $300 million twice. And it only took me like, 36 minutes and 28 minutes. We can round it off and say one hour. In one hour I made $650 million.”
Alvarez, who lost a decision to Mayweather in 2013, is currently one of the biggest stars in the sport.
