While the UNC basketball program preps for the upcoming 2022-23 season, Hubert Davis and his staff are still focusing on recruiting. The Tar Heels have a two-man 2023 class and just one commit in the 2024 class.
But there are still plenty of prospects left for UNC to pursue in 2024 and build up the class.
One prospect that is right there in the state of North Carolina is five-star Isaiah Evans. The small forward is out of Huntersville, North Carolina, and has racked up 10 offers in his recruitment so far. Programs like Florida State, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, and Illinois among others have offered so far. But Evans is hoping to hear from a pair of blue bloods as well.
Per Andrew Slater of Pro Insight, Evans is hoping to hear from both UNC and Duke in his recruitment:
Kansas will be in for ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Isaiah Evans’24 of @northmeckbball & @tsf2024
Arkansas & Mizzou were in (again) last night. N.C. St consistently. Offers from A&M, Illinois, Cincy, Auburn, LSU, UGA, Prov, GTown, Pitt, Memphis, Tenn, GT, FSU, WVU. Like to hear from UNC & Duke pic.twitter.com/QXzsD4FxDk

Being a 2024 prospect, there is plenty of time in Evans’ recruitment to gain more interest from programs. And it’s likely UNC and Duke will come calling eventually.
The hope is that it won’t be too late for them and that Evans hasn’t built a strong relationship with another program.
