Five Tar Heels Earn ILWomen All-American Nods

The Tar Heels have shown complete domination throughout the season, and now the players are getting recognized for it.

The UNC women’s lacrosse team has five athletes earning some recognition as they prepare for the Final Four this weekend.

Five Tar Heels were named to the ILWomen All-American team, celebrating their success so far this season.

UNC has been dominating this year with a perfect 20-0 record. Now, some players are getting their flowers for it. Jamie Ortega, Ally Mastroianni, and Emma Trenchard were all named to ILWomen All-American First Team.

Meanwhile, Emily Nalls made the second team and Taylor Moreno on the third team.

So far in the NCAA tournament as the top seed, UNC has dominated Virginia 24-2 and slid past Stony Brook 8-5. Andie Aldave has led the Heels in goals with six goals on ten shots in the two games played.

The No.1 Tar Heels will take on No. 4 Northwestern in the semi-finals in hopes to play for the national championship.
