Eagles RT Lane Johnson has high praise for Nate Herbig & Jack Driscoll after their first starts

Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson had high praise for rookie tackle Jack Driscoll & Nate Herbig after their first starts

The Philadelphia Eagles gave up 8 sacks and were thoroughly embarrassed in the second half of the season-opening loss to the Washington Football Team, but not everything was a disaster. Rookie offensive linemen, Jack Driscoll made his first start at right tackle in place of Lane Johnson and held up well against No. 2 overall pick, Chase Young.

Nate Herbig made his first start at right guard for the Eagles and finished the game as the team’s highest-rated offensive linemen.

On Thursday after confirming that he would return to the lineup, Lane Johnson had high praise for both players, telling the media that he was impressed by both players who were making their NFL debuts as starters.

The Eagles are hopeful that Herbig continues to learn from his debut performance and with Johnson returning, he’ll be able to focus simply on playing guard.
