Eagles pushing to retain DC Jonathan Gannon

Gannon interviewed for the Cardinals’ vacant head coaching position on Monday following the Eagles’ loss in the Super Bowl.

The Arizona Cardinals interviewed Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon for their vacant head coaching position on Monday. The Eagles, coming off a Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, could be looking at multiple changes on their coaching staff.

They are losing offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, who will be the new head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

They could lose Gannon to the Cardinals, but the Eagles are trying not to lose him, according to SI.com’s Albert Breer.

I have heard, for what it’s worth, that the Eagles have made an effort to keep Gannon in the fold, with the Arizona interest having been rumored for a while.

The Cardinals are expected to make an announcement early this week.

Gannon appears to be the favorite.

We will know soon whether the Eagles were able to convince Gannon to stay at least another season.
