Detroit Pistons rookie Cade Cunningham will not play on Thursday versus the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a right hip pointer, head coach Dwane Casey said prior to the game.
Cunningham suffered the injury on Tuesday in a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. He exited the contest midway through the third quarter and would not return. Casey said afterward that he suffered a hip pointer and would be reevaluated on Thursday.
The contest on Thursday will be the 10th of the season Cunningham has missed. He missed five games at the beginning of the season because of an ankle injury suffered during training camp and four due to the health and safety protocol.
