Draft reaction: Arizona Cardinals select Syracuse CB Garrett Williams in the third round

The Arizona Cardinals continue to rebuild their secondary with a defensive back who can help bolster their corner room with the selection of Syracuse’ Garrett Williams.

An athletic stud with ideal length for the position, Williams saw action in all his three seasons with the Orange with mixed results. During his final season however, Williams saw a jump in production, and while not a shut down corner, showed he can develop and grow with time. In his final season with Syracuse Williams surrendered a passer rating of just 84.1 as well as nabbing two interceptions on the year.

Williams could very well see action right away behind a shaky set a players in front of him, and with an impressive showing in camp could leap the depth chart right away to open the season as an outside corner. While he will have growing pains as a rookie, his length and progression make him a candidate to be apart of the future in the Arizona secondary.
