Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jaden Springer has been up and down between the Sixers and the team’s G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, all throughout the season. The 28th pick in the 2021 NBA draft has been in need of development so it makes sense.
He has played only two games for the Sixers all season and has scored two points, but he has played well in spurts for Delaware.
He is averaging 23.7 points and shooting 35.7% from deep over his last three games for the Blue Coats and he earned a call up to the Sixers on Friday. However, it is mostly due to Philadelphia needing bodies at the moment as coach Doc Rivers has not seen much of his rookie.
“Really, nothing, honestly,” said Rivers. “Just with the injuries we’re having, we just felt like we needed another body. We’re just gonna need bodies right now. Guys are out, not sure when anyone’s coming back, and that’s why we brought him up.”

The Sixers are still missing the likes of Danny Green, Shake Milton, and Matisse Thybulle so it does make sense as to why the Sixers brought up Springer. At this point, it will be on him to continue to work in practice and show his game in the little time he does get.
