At some point after the Pro Bowl on Sunday, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray deleted almost all his posts on Instagram, leading to a dizzying debate about what it could mean. Is he unhappy with the team? Is he sending a message that he wants to get his contract extension this offseason? Is he doing a rebrand?
He hasn’t said anything about it and no one has come out with a firm reason why he has done it, but one of his teammates has a theory.
Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins was a guest on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday on Radio Row in Los Angeles for Super Bowl week and, while he apparently know the reason, he gave the best thing he could come up with.
“The only thing I can think was because he wanted to show off some new outfits for the upcoming season and he didn’t want you guys looking at the old ones,” he told Bruce Murray and Rich Gannon.
That’s as good a theory as there is to me.
Maybe it is just about showing off new threads.
