Cousins has been great on 1st-read-throws over last 2 seasons

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins ranks in the top 10 on first-read-throws over the last two seasons.

The folks over at Pro Football Focus have the analytics for pretty much everything in the football world.

That includes how quarterbacks have done on the first read over the last two seasons.

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins ranks seventh on the list with a grade of 89.2, throwing for 5,884 yards with a 66% completion rate.

The only quarterbacks ahead of Cousins on first-read throws were Drew Brees, Patrick Mahomes, Andrew Luck (who retired prior to the 2019 season), Jared Goff, Aaron Rodgers and Philip Rivers.

Behind Cousins in the top 10 was Russell Wilson, Tom Brady and Deshaun Watson.

While that’s great, Cousins is not one of the highest-graded quarterbacks on non-first-read throws over the last two seasons. He doesn’t rank in the top-10 in that group. However, the only quarterbacks in the top-10 on both lists were Wilson, Mahomes, Brees, Rodgers, Brady and Luck.
