Commanders vs. Jets: Wednesday injury report for Week 16

The first injury report of the week is out for the Commanders’ Week 16 game against the Jets.

The Washington Commanders (4-10) and New York Jets (5-9) officially kicked off preparation Wednesday for their Week 16 showdown at MetLife Stadium.

The Commanders lost their fifth consecutive game, a 28-20 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Ron Rivera benched quarterback Sam Howell for part of the fourth quarter. Jacoby Brissett relieved Howell, but the second-year passer remains Washington’s starting quarterback.

Meanwhile, the Jets have quarterback news, too. Aaron Rodgers confirmed on Tuesday there would be no miracle comeback this season. Rodgers tore his Achilles in Week 1 and was supposedly targeting a Christmas Eve return vs. Washington.

Instead of Rodgers, Jets fans will see Zach Wilson or Trevor Siemian on Sunday against the Commanders. Wilson is battling a concussion, so Siemian could get the start.

Here’s a look at Washington’s injury report from Wednesday:

  • C Tyler Larsen (knee): DNP
  • LT Charles Leno (calf): DNP
  • RB Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring): DNP
  • RB Jonathan Williams (concussion): DNP
  • DT Jonathan Allen: (vet rest day) DNP
  • CB Kendall Fuller: (vet rest day) DNP
  • DT John Ridgeway (foot): limited
  • DE James Smith-Williams (hamstring): limited
  • LB Cody Barton (knee): full
  • CB Emmanuel Forbes (elbow): full

Here is a copy of the Jets’ injury report, which shows Rodgers, since he was activated, but obviously, will not play.
