Colts QB Anthony Richardson out vs. Steelers with injury

Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has been ruled out after exiting Sunday’s game vs. the Steelers.

In the first quarter of the Indianapolis Colts Week 4 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, quarterback Anthony Richardson exited the game.

The Colts then ruled Richardson out with a hip injury early in the second quarter.

This was the second time that Richardson had come out of this game. On a 16 yard run, he took a hit that had him exit for two plays. After returning, he took another hit on a quarterback run for a yard.

It was after this play that Richardson went to the locker room. He has returned to the sidelines but will not be going back into the game.

In Richardson’s place, Joe Flacco took over and completed the initial scoring drive, throwing a four-yard touchdown pass to Josh Downs to give the Colts a 14-0 lead at the time.

This completed what was a nine-play 86-yard scoring drive by the Colts’ offense, with Richardson leading most of that charge. This drive was again sparked by a big pass play from Richardson to Michael Pittman for 28 yards. Richardson also had a 16 yard rush as well.

With a 17-0 lead over the Steelers, Flacco is 5-of-8 passing for 26 yards and a touchdown. Josh Downs has been a favorite target of his and the Colts continue to lean on Jonathan Taylor and the run game.
