It’s your time to shine, Cincinnati. The undefeated Bearcats (11-0) jumped up one spot to No. 4 in the latest iteration of the College Football Playoff rankings. A Group of 5 team has never been selected for the playoffs, so this could be a good sign for Cincy if they can pick up a win against ECU to close out the regular season and take out a talented Houston (10-1) team in the American Conference Championship game.
Unsurprisingly, Georgia (11-0) held on to the top overall spot. Ohio State demolished then-No. 7 Michigan State (which fell to No. 12), leap-frogging Alabama and moving into the No. 2 spot. Alabama slipped back to No. 3.
Michigan, which has a looming rivalry game with the Buckeyes this weekend, is within striking distance at No. 5, and Notre Dame has kept its playoff hopes alive at No. 6.
