The New York Knicks hosted the Boston Celtics at the world-famous Madison Square Garden on Saturday night sans veteran big man Al Horford, the Florida alum taking the night off in light of lower back stiffness. The Celtics were just fine without him though despite being outrebounded 44-34, with Boston setting a franchise record of 27 made 3-pointers.
On a night when even center Noah Vonleh was draining treys, the Celtics were led by Jaylen Brown (30 points, 5 rebounds), with fellow star wing Jayson Tatum chipping in another 26 points and 5 assists. Reserve forward Sam Hauser tied a career-high 17 points off of the bench while going 5-of-8 from beyond the arc, and Malcolm Brogdon steadied the second unit once again with 14 points, 5 boards, and as many assists.
Let’s take a look at some of the best plays captured in images from the Celtics’ ninth game of their 2022-23 campaign.
