CBS Sports’ Barrett Sallee makes his pick for LSU at Missouri in Week 6

Barrett Sallee thinks LSU gets the win on Saturday, but he doesn’t think coach Brian Kelly’s team will cover.

Sitting at 3-2 as the calendar turns to October, Saturday’s tough Week 6 road matchup against Missouri feels like a must-win if LSU is going to mount a challenge in the division and salvage this season.

It won’t be easy, though. Missouri boasts one of the SEC’s top passing offenses, and receiver Luther Burden could give a Tigers’ secondary that has struggled tremendously quite a bit of fits.

LSU opened the week as a 6.5-point favorite despite recent struggles, and while CBS Sports’ Barrett Sallee thinks Brian Kelly’s team ultimately gets the win in his Week 6 SEC picks, he also doesn’t expect LSU to cover.

This one will be a point-per-minute track meet that will be one of the most entertaining games of the weekend in which LSU will find a way to get the job done. LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is an absolute monster, and his ability to make things happen through the air and on the ground will help this team get a much-needed win. Mizzou will cover, though. The Tigers are 3-1 against the spread and are still undervalued. This will be decided by a field goal. Pick: Missouri +6.5

The Tigers will hope for something a bit more decisive, but at this point, they would take a road win over a ranked opponent given the struggles the team has had away from Baton Rouge under Kelly.
