Euro 2020: Austria vs. Italy odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Austria vs. Italy odds and lines, with UEFA EURO 2020 picks, tips, predictions and best bets.

In the second game of the knockout stage, Italy, the winner of Group A, takes on Austria. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Below, we preview the Austria vs. Italy odds and lines and make our best Euro 2020 bets, picks and predictions.

Italy is coming off a nearly flawless group stage at 3-0. While some of its performances weren’t the most convincing, Italy scored 7 goals while not allowing any. Italy is seventh in the FIFA World Rankings and is poised for a deep run in the tournament.

It’ll first have to get by Austria, which is No. 23 in the world. Austria beat Ukraine and North Macedonia but lost to the 16th-ranked Netherlands. This is going to be a tough one for a side that’s yet to show much of anything.

Prediction

Italy 3, Austria 1

Money line (ML)

PASS on the money line because Italy (-550) is just far too pricey.

Crazy things happen in soccer, and the value of -550 is not worth betting. Now, there are a few interesting prop bets like ITALY (+130) in the first half. That could be the best bet if you want to take a chance on the favorites.

While Italy won its last game 1-0 over Wales, defeating Switzerland 3-0 is what set it apart in the group stage. With a goal from F Ciro Immobile and two from MF Manuel Locatelli in that match, Italy has been a scoring machine.

Expect another big performance from the side that’s expected to be one of the favorites in the tournament.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the OVER 2.5 (+105) because Italy scored 7 goals in the first three games. As noted, its strikers are experienced and capable of getting behind the opponent’s back lines.

Only one team, Belgium, scored more goals in the group stage than Italy. As for Austria, it gave up 3 through three games but allowed 2 of those to the Netherlands, the only capable team it played.

With this being a plus-money bet and Italy able to get 3 goals on its own, this one should easily hit, and if Austria can get even 1, it’ll be a nice insurance policy. Austria had 4 goals in the group stage.

If you place some money on this one, only regular time counts for the total, so don’t get excited if it hits in overtime even though I fully expect to see 3 goals in the first 90 minutes.

Euro 2020: Portugal vs. France preview, odds and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Portugal vs. France odds and lines, with UEFA EURO 2020 picks, tips, predictions and best bets.

One of the biggest games of the Euro 2020 group stage is upon us. France (1 win, 0 losses, 1 draw) and Portugal (1-1-0) meet for a 3 p.m. ET kickoff Wednesday at Puskás Arena in Budapest, Hungary. Below, we preview the Portugal vs. France odds and lines and make our best Euro 2020 bets, picks and predictions.

Neither team is truly at home like both Germany and Hungary have been throughout the tournament. That said, neither Portugal nor France have been overly impressive.

France is arguably the best and most well-rounded team in Euro 2020. It brought back numerous starters from its World Cup-winning roster, with MFs Paul Pogba and Kante in the middle, and F Kylian Mbappé and F Antoine Griezmann up front. France has the most star-powered roster but hasn’t transitioned that into a pure on-field product through two matches.

France won by 1 over Germany due to an own goal by a German defender and then tied Hungary, who isn’t a top-30 FIFA team. That’s not the France team that’s among the top-three in the world, but it’ll look to change that against Portugal and F Cristiano Ronaldo.

Portugal has played both Germany and Hungary as well. The two games combined for 9 total goals.

Germany defeated Portugal 4-2 after the Portuguese beat Hungary 3-0. However, one goal was a penalty kick and all three were scored past the 80th minute.

Portugal vs. France: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 6:25 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Portugal +275 (bet $100 to win $275) | France +120 (bet $100 to win $120) | Draw +210 (bet $100 to win $210)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +115 | U: -155)

Prediction

France 2, Portugal 1

Money line (ML)

BET on FRANCE (+120) because its talent will eventually shine.

France hasn’t looked dominant this tournament, but the talent is there. Mbappe and Griezmann will figure it out, and there’s no betting against Kante and Pogba, two of the best midfielders in the world. France tripled Hungary in shot attempts.

France should’ve beat Germany by more than a single goal but it never looked uncomfortable. After watching them for both games, I’d roll with France over Portugal.

Portugal has played well, but its backline with the aging Pepe was absolutely exposed against Germany. With 2 own goals, Portugal caved under the German pressure. Ronaldo put them up 1-0 and Germany scored 4 straight.

Portugal’s backline hasn’t shown enough to hope it can slow down a forceful French attack.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS on the Under 2.5 (-155) because neither team has consistently shown attacking prowess. Portugal scored 3 goals against Hungary but didn’t break through until late in the match.

Against Germany, Portugal got one late to make it 4-2 but really only scored 1 meaningful goal. France has scored 1 true goal with the other being an own goal. The sporadic nature of both teams means passing on Wednesday’s total.

Euro 2020: Portugal at Germany preview, odds and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Portugal at Germany odds and lines, with UEFA EURO 2020 picks, tips, predictions and best bets.

One of the biggest games of the second slate of Euro 2020 group stage games is upon us. Germany (0 wins, 1 loss, 0 draws) and Portugal (1-0-0), ranked 12th and fifth, respectively, in the FIFA World Rankings, meet for a noon ET kickoff Saturday at Allianz Arena in Munich. Below, we preview the Portugal vs. Germany odds and lines and make our best Euro 2020 bets, picks and predictions.

Germany comes in with a home-field advantage. While it may be a slight underdog given the rankings, this team doesn’t lack star power. MF Toni Kroos, who played a large role in the team’s 1-0 loss to France, will dominant the middle of the field. F Thomas Müller will need to step up as the home side was held scoreless to start the tournament.

Those two will dictate the style of play for the German side. Then, you have GK Manuel Neuer in the back. He’s arguably the best goalkeeper in the world and showed that against France. Only an own goal by D Mats Hummels got by him.

That said, let’s not act like the Portugal side has no star power. They have F Cristiano Ronaldo, who is closing in on the international goals record. Ronaldo put two in the back of the net in Portgular’s 3-0 win over Hungary.

Portugal at Germany: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 11:21 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Portugal +220 (bet $100 to win $220) | Germany +130 (bet $100 to win $130) | Draw +225 (bet $100 to win $225)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +100 | U: -135)

Special UEFA EURO 2020 betting offer

Prediction

Germany 1, Portugal 0

Money line (ML)

PASS on the money line because neither team truly showed much in their first game.

Sure, Portugal won 3-0, but they played 37th-ranked Hungary. They also didn’t capitalize on many early-game chances and didn’t get one in the net until the 84th minute. One of those three goals also came from the penalty spot.

Nonetheless, betting against Ronaldo is never smart. He’ll be taking on a German side that impressed despite losing. Germany didn’t bring much offense to the table, totaling just 1 shot on goal.
With possession being dominant by Germany against arguably the best team in Euro 2020, this could be a slow-paced game that favors the more complete team, which, in this case, is Germany.
Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 2.5 (-135) because neither team truly showed any attacking prowess in their opening matches.

Germany won possession and didn’t allow many opportunities for French stars Kylian Mbappé or Paul Pogba. France wasn’t allowed to gain any momentum despite not being pressed by Germany too much.

Germany had 692 passes and an 89.2% passing rate. Kroos and MF İlkay Gündoğan played very well. Expect them to keep the pace of the game in their favor and make it a slower game.

As for Portugal, they have Ronaldo, but until late in the game, they couldn’t break down Hungary. With the star being the main threat for Portugal, I’d expect Germany to lock him down and keep the Portuguese offense limited.

Euro 2020: France at Germany preview, odds and prediction

Previewing Tuesday’s France at Germany odds and lines, with UEFA EURO 2020 picks, tips, predictions and best bets.

Arguably the biggest game of the first slate of Euro 2020 group stage games is upon us. Germany and France, ranked 12th and 2nd, respectively, in the FIFA World Ranking, meet for a 3 p.m. ET kickoff Tuesday at Allianz Arena in Munich. Below, we preview the France vs. Germany odds and lines and make our best Euro 2020 bets, picks and predictions.

Germany comes in with a home-field advantage. While it may be a slight underdog, this team doesn’t lack star power. MF Toni Kroos will help man the middle while MF Leroy Sane likely occupies the edge.

Those two will dictate the pace of the game for Germany. Then, you have GK Manuel Neuer as the last line of defense. He’s arguably the best goalkeeper in the world.

France is bringing in an absolutely dynamic, quick, and skilled group of players led by young phenom F Kylian Mbappe. Other than Mbappe, MF Paul Pogba and MF Kante are the top stars. France should show its dominance in this tournament.

France at Germany: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 6:25 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: France +165(bet $100 to win $165) | Germany +180 (bet $100 to win $180) | Draw +220 (bet $100 to win $220)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +100 | U: -135)

Prediction

France 2, Germany 0

Money line (ML)

Bet FRANCE (+165). Despite any rising conflicts, this team is just the most talented in the tournament.

Heading to Germany will be no easy feat, nor will getting past Neuer, but this team has shown resilience before, and will be primed to do it again.

France beat Albania and Moldova by a combined score of 4-1 in the qualifiers. Now with its entire roster in action, it should manage a victory.

Also, I don’t see too much attacking on the German side.

Germany scored 10 goals against Northern Ireland and Belarus to qualify, but France is a much different beast and should present a tough challenge right out of the gate.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS  because 2.5 is not going to be an easy mark to reach. Both teams have exceptional goalies, and it’s unlikely they allow much.

Neuer and France GK Hugo Lloris are both top-10 keepers. With Kante and Kroos a couple of the best defensive and possession-minded midfielders in the world, both teams should have keeping and pace.

This one feels like a low-scoring event.

UEFA EURO: Croatia at England preview, odds and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Croatia at England odds and lines, with UEFA EURO 2020 betting picks, tips and best bets.

With a wild first few days of action, the few biggest games of potentially the entire group stage will soon be upon us.

To kick off the three-game slate on Sunday, it’s England and Croatia, respectively 4th and 14th in FIFA World Ranking. Kickoff is slated for 9 a.m. ET, and the event will be held at Wembley Stadium.

Below, we preview Croatia vs. England odds and lines and make our best UEFA EURO 2020 bets, picks and predictions.

England will come in with home-field advantage, something Croatian star midfielder and captain Luka Modric commented on earlier in the week. With forward Harry Kane looking to take the tournament’s golden boot, they’ll be primed for a deep run and will look to kick off their dominance with the very first Group D game.

As for Croatia, they’ll enter with arguably the best midfield in the entire tournament.

Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitić will look to make their presence felt. Without much other star presence, will they be enough for the Croatian side? This first game will be a great gauge to see how far this team could go.

Croatia at England: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated 7:17 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Croatia +575 (bet $100 to win $575) | England -180 (bet $180 to win $100) | Draw +290 (bet $100 to win $290)
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +105 | U: -140)

Special UEFA EURO 2020 betting offer

Bet $1 on any team’s money line, WIN $100 (in free bets) if any EURO team scores a goal that day. Promotion available in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA, Washington D.C. and WV.

New customer offer, terms and conditions apply. Place all of your legal, online sports bets at BetMGM Sportsbook. Bet now!

Prediction

England 3, Croatia 1

Money line (ML)

BET England (-180) to win despite the line giving not-too-favorable odds. Although Finland did win after Christian Erikson went down for Denmark, most of the favorites have won during the first couple days of EURO play.

A 3-1 win for today’s young England team is much more attainable than you might think. This season Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford had a combined 34 goals in the Premier League.

Having young Phil Foden and seasoned Jack Grealish in the mix of the attack also stacks the odds greatly against Croatia. This kind of young talent should easily be capable of beating this Croatian team.

Although Ivan Rakitic, Luka Modrić, and Champions League winner Mateo Kovacic could be arguably one of the strongest midfield trios in this year’s tourney, it simply will not be enough for the kind of young strength, talent, and depth this English team has.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the Over (+105) because 2.5 isn’t too much for a couple of teams with the most firepower in the EURO Tournament. Kane is a scoring machine, and it’d be shocking to see him not put one in the back of the net.

This England team has some youth, home-field advantage, and one of the top projected goal scorers in the EPL. Along with an elite attacking midfield from Croatia, expect a healthy amount of goals.

This one feels like a high-scoring event.
