Former Ohio State commit puts Notre Dame in his top group

The Irish are squarely in the mix for the star receiver

As soon as [autotag]Jayvan Boggs[/autotag] decommitted from Ohio State, the connection to Notre Dame football began.

It was confirmed on Wednesday evening, as Boggs released his top 7 schools with the Irish making the cut along with Florida, Georgia, Missouri, UCF, USC and Texas. The 6-foot and 188-pound Florida native is viewed as one of the top players in the country, ranking as the No. 193 overall prospect and 23rd receiver according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Irish aren’t one of the few schools that Boggs has already set up official visits to, but if they are to receive one, he could eventually land in South Bend.

Notre Dame currently has 19 total commits in the 2025 class, with three other receivers commited in Jerome Bettis Jr., Elijah Burress and Shaun Terry.

Notre Dame football loses specialist starter to the transfer portal

This is a surprising move

The second transfer portal window has opened, and like many schools, Notre Dame football has been hit with a departure.

Starting punter [autotag]Bryce McFerson[/autotag] will leave the program and look for a new home, as he announced his intentions to transfer on Tuesday afternoon. The special teams starter still has three seasons remaining to play, after not getting on the field during his freshman year.

He took over the job this past season, averaging 45 yard-per-punt with 5 of them landing inside the opponents 20. McFerson had three games with over 200 net total yards, two of those were for over 300 yards, showing that he was a solid weapon for the Irish.

It’s unfortunate that McFerson would leave the program after starting this past year, but we still wish him the best at his next location.

How to watch Notre Dame football’s spring game draft

Who would you take first in the Blue and Gold draft?

It has become a new tradition under Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman to live stream the Blue and Gold game draft.

The Irish are in their final week of preparations for the spring game, and once again the draft will be broadcast for everyone to see. The commissioner, Freeman, will oversee the selections this Thursday at 9:15 am EST.

There are three ways to catch the event, either via the official Notre Dame X account, its Facebook and on YouTube. What we don’t know is who will be making the selections, but we should find out that information fairly soon.

It will be interesting to see which quarterbacks and wide receivers go early, as those are, in my eyes, the biggest question marks as the spring practices conclude. If I had to guess, we will see Steve Angeli picked as the first quarterback and Jaden Greathouse as the first receiver. Who would you pick?

Notre Dame commit Christopher Burgess accepts invite to All-Star game

Burgess Jr. will head to a familiar place for Irish players

There are numerous high school All-Star games that a prospect can attend and Notre Dame football defensive commit [autotag]Christopher Burgess Jr.[/autotag] has accepted an invitation to the Polynesian Bowl.

The Irish have had multiple alumni of this game suit up for the over the years, which include Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, Chris Tyree, Braden Lenzy and Logan Saldate.

At this point in Burgess Jr.’s career, it’s hard to say where he will land, as linebacker and defensive line are in the cards. It all depends on how his 6-foot, 4-inch and 240-pound evolves before he lands in South Bend. Regardless of where he will play, as the nations No. 116 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

There will surely be more Notre Dame commits to join Burgess Jr. in Hawaii.

Notre Dame football trending to for 2025 Texas wide receiver

The Irish could ultimately land the talented wide receiver

With not much room left in Notre Dame football’s 2025 recruiting class, they have to be very picky at which position and prospect they want to add.

Of the current 19 commits, the Irish have three current wide receivers in the fold and are looking like another one will join the trio. On Tuesday, two 247Sports Crystal Ball projections went in for Notre Dame to land 6-foot, 1-inch and 190-pound pass catcher [autotag]Tanook Hines[/autotag].

Both Tom Loy and Mike Roach have the nations No. 340 overall prospect and 48th receiver in the 247Sports Composite Rankings joining the Irish class eventually. Hines recently just visited South Bend, so the visit must have gone well.

If they are correct, Notre Dame will land one of the best wide receiver prospects in the 2025 class.

Is Notre Dame dealing with another transfer who is now injured?

Not the best news, but it might be nothing as well

As we all know, Notre Dame football’s project starting quarterback Riley Leonard has been working his way back from an injury.

You most likely can add another Irish transfer to the injured list, as it has been reported that wide receiver [autotag]Jayden Harrison[/autotag] has been seen wearing a walking boot.

The Marshall transfer was expected to give Notre Dame depth at wide receiver, while also giving them a big time threat as a kickoff returner. The good news is that a surgery has not been announced, so it looks like Harrison may have just tweaked his left leg and the coaches wanted to hold him out until it heals.

It will be interesting to see what transpires with the injury, but we hope it’s nothing serious and Harrison will be ready for the season.

Oklahoma 4-star cornerback will officially visit Notre Dame football

The Irish will have a big official visit in June

Although there isn’t much room left in Notre Dame football 2025 recruiting class, the coaching staff is still setting up multiple official visits with top prospects.

[autotag]Trystan Haynes[/autotag], a 6-foot, 2-inch and 175-pound Oklahoma cornerback is one of those players that will make the trip North to South Bend as reported by 247Sports Tom Loy. The nations No. 151 overall prospect and 19th ranked cornerback by the 247Sports Composite Rankings will make his visit in the middle of June.

Currently, the Irish only have once commitment from another cornerback, Cree Thomas, although some of the safety commits could play the position as well.

You have to expect that the red carpet will be brought out for Haynes during his visit, especially considering the lack of current cornerback commits in the class.

Notre Dame QB commit Deuce Knight gets invite to prestigious camp

The Irish have a great quarterback in their 2025 class

For any high school quarterback, an invitation to the Elite 11 camp shows that you are one of the best in the country.

You can add Notre Dame football commit [autotag]Deuce Knight[/autotag] to that list, as on Sunday it was announced that the 6-foot, 5-inch and 195-pound lefty from Mississippi will be attending the camp.

Numerous alumni have gone on to have success at the next level and beyond, so it’s a very good sign that the Irish commit will be competing with the best in the country. Knight’s recruiting ranking backs up the invitation, as he’s ranked as the No. 6 quarterback and 67th overall prospect nationally according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The competition will be intense, and we fully expect Knight to put on a show during the camp.

Clarence Lewis pens his goodbye and thank you to Notre Dame football

Thank you and good luck Clarence!

It was unfortunate that cornerback Clarence Lewis decided that he needed to move on from Notre Dame football and enter the transfer portal.

Lewis looked like he would play a big role in the Irish secondary after contributing over the last four seasons, but that clearly won’t be the case. In a heartfelt thank you and goodbye, the New Jersey native posted that after prayer and conversations with loved ones the decision was made.

He went on to thank his “coaches, my teammates, support staff and everyone I met along the way for all the memories and connections made,” during his time in South Bend.

Again, we wish Lewis the best as he finished up his collegiate career and moves onto the next level.

Watch Notre Dame Linebackers Coach Max Bullough Mic’d Up at Practice

Talk about a hands on approach…

There are coaches that are hands on and then there is flat-out hands coaching.

Notre Dame linebackers coach [autotag]Max Bullough[/autotag] is clearly part of the later.

Bullough, who was on the Cleveland Browns roster as recently as 2018, has climbed the coaching ladder since getting into the profession.  After being a graduate assistant at Cincinnati and Alabama from 2019-2022, Bullough came to Notre Dame in 2023 in the same role.

This past off-season he was promoted to linebackers coach in a reshuffling of assistants after safeties coach Chris O’Leary left for a job with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Bullough was mic’d up at a recent Notre Dame spring practice.  It wasn’t as much as what he had to say while coaching that gets your attention, instead it’s about how he does it and that’s by being as hands-on as one possibly can.

See for yourself below:

Bullough was listed at 6-3, 249-pounds during his playing days and it’s safe to say the former Michigan State standout hardly appears to look any different than his playing days.

Not that it doesn’t happen on plenty of other staffs across the country but this approach absolutely has to be a selling point if you’re a star high school linebacker trying to make your college choice.
