In Week 12, the NFC West had two divisional games. The San Francisco 49ers blew out the Seattle Seahawks on Thanksgiving night and the Los Angeles Rams blew out the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in Arizona.

The 49ers extended their lead in the division while the Rams remain in the playoff hunt.

49ers extend lead in NFC West over Seahawks

The 49ers now have a two-game lead in the NFC West entering Week 13.

The NFC West race did not get closer in Week 12. There were two divisional games and the top of the division got better and the bottom got worse.

The San Francisco 49ers now have a two-game lead in the division and ensured they will not lose either a head-to-dead or division record tiebreaker to the Seattle Seahawks.

  1. San Francisco 49ers, 8-3 (3-0 division)
  2. Seattle Seahawks, 6-5 (1-3 division)
  3. Los Angeles Rams, 5-6 (4-1 division)

NFC West undefeated in Week 10; 49ers maintain tiebreak lead

The idle Rams were the only team in the division not to win in Week 10.

After a couple of weeks of struggles, the NFC West went undefeated in Week 10. The Los Angeles Rams were idle on their bye and the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals all won their games.

Entering Week 11, The standings have not changed. The 49ers and Seahawks have the same record but the Niners technically lead the division because of a divisional record tiebreak (San Fran is 2-0 while Seattle is 1-1).

The 49ers were idle and the rest of the division all lost in Week 9. See where they are now in Touchdown Wire’s latest power rankings.

Week 9 was not a good week for the NFC West. The San Francisco 49ers were on their bye but scored as many touchdowns as the other three teams, who all lost in Week 9. The Cardinals were shut out 27-0. The Seahawks lost 37-3 and the Rams, without Matthew Stafford, lost 20-3.

NFC West standings: 49ers retake division lead on bye as everyone else loses badly

The three NFC West teams who played on Sunday combined for as many touchdowns as the 49ers on their bye.

The Seattle Seahawks’ time atop the NFC West was short-lived. They took the lead last week after the San Francisco 49ers lost their third straight game.

However, the 49ers were idle in Week 9 and the rest of the division was awful. The Seahawks, Cardinals and Rams combined to score as many touchdowns as the 49ers did while on their bye.

Seattle fell to a tie with the 49ers but San Fran gets holds a divisional tiebreak right now.
