Here’s why Taylor Swift’s impact on ‘Swag Surfin’ is hard to ignore

The popular rap anthem has seen a bump in streaming numbers.

Back in 2009, rap group Fast Life Yungstaz released the song “Swag Surfin’.” It’s been a staple of HBCUs since it first dropped and only grew in popularity over the years as it became a regular at sporting events across the U.S.

F.L.Y. members Vee, iMcFli and Mook joined Ryan Cameron on his radio show in Atlanta on February 21, speaking about the Taylor Swift Effect. “She’s a big help. I’ll say that much,” Mook said into the mic. “She got our streams up like 700% right now on Spotify, Apple Music.”

He goes on to say the group’s YouTube account grew by over 20 thousand new followers.

“Shout out to Tay-Tay,” F.L.Y. said. The Taylor Swift Effect is real.

The 14-time Grammy winner performed three times in Melbourne last weekend, and has since moved over to Sydney for four shows kicking off Friday night. Now, she’ll seemingly have another vocal supporter in the crowd with Kelce. Swift attended 13 NFL games this season — including the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win earlier this month — and Kelce is ready to return the support.

This won’t be the first show Kelce has attended as Swift’s beau as the KC star made a trip to Argentina during his bye week back in November.

Beyonce’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ has people (including the Savannah Bananas!) doing line dances all over TikTok

“It’s a real life boogie and a real life hoedown.”

Beyonce has gone country, and music fans can’t get enough. Her new single, Texas Hold ‘Em, has people making up line dances, and the results are so good. The song is taking over TikTok, and now the Savannah Bananas are involved because you know they can’t resist a chance to have fun.

Remember when Beyonce shocked the world with new music during the Super Bowl and then casually acted like it wasn’t a big deal? Well, news flash: IT’S A BIG DEAL. Her new music and forthcoming album, Renaissance Act II, is seemingly an ode to her Texas roots and to country music. Her two singles from the project, Texas Hold ‘Em and 16 Carriages, feature Beyonce in a new light, and fans are loving it.

Texas Hold ‘Em, in particular, is inspiring creative line dances across the country and somehow even found its way to sports. So many amazingly choreographed routines are currently trending on TikTok.
