There seems to be a consensus among NCAA Tournament analysts about where Florida will end up this March. Like most other recent bracket projections released, CBS has the Gators as a No. 7 seed in its latest bracketology after they split this week’s games, falling to Arkansas but beating Georgia.
According to this projection, UF would draw 10th-seeded Colorado State in the first round and potentially No. 2 Villanova in the second round. The first two games would be played at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Should Florida advance to the Sweet 16, it could draw a rematch with West Virginia, the No. 3 seed in the region. The top seed is Michigan, who UF wouldn’t face until the Elite Eight.
There are five other SEC teams in CBS’ projected field: No. 2 Alabama, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 4 Missouri, No. 6 Arkansas and No. 8 LSU. The Tigers, Razorbacks and Crimson Tide are all slotted in the same region according to this projection.
Florida’s tournament stock seems to remain pretty static, but with two remaining Quadrant 1 games on the schedule, that could change relatively quickly.
