LaVar Ball teases release of Big Baller Brand water, rims, cartoon in 2020

During an interview with TMZ, LaVar Ball revealed plans for Big Baller Brand water, rims and tires and cartoons in 2020.

While Big Baller Brand was quiet in 2019, LaVar Ball teased a much bigger 2020 in the works for the company. During a sitdown roundtable at TMZ with the likes of Metta World Peace and Master P, LaVar revealed some plans in the immediate future for Big Baller Brand that his far from the scope of clothing and apparel.

“In April, I got water coming out, Big Baller Brand water coming out. It’ll be in 2,500 stores. Two months after that, I have rims and tires coming out. Big Baller Brand rims and tires. If you have a Corvette or Ferrari, get Big Baller Brand ZO2s. If you got a big ass truck, my middle son’s strongest, that’s the Big Ball Brand G3s. If you got a hybrid, it’s the Big Baller Brand MB1s, that’s LaMelo.”

Big Baller Brand water isn’t new as it was released back in late 2018 and early 2019. But as Big Baller Brand took a step back following the allegations surrounding Alan Foster, the water bottles left the shelves as quickly as they went on them.

Big Baller Brand rims and tires are as far out in left field as anything imaginable and is a product that will have to be seen to be believed considering the outlandishness of it.

But that’s not the only thing LaVar teased in the roundtable as a much more ambitious project may also be in the works.

“I’m talking with some guys, this will be another thing that might knock you in the head, might have a cartoon coming out. That cartoon going to be amazing. This is what it’s called, “Mission Impossi-Ball.” I’m like a Charlie Angels type of guy. My boys are basketball players by day and superheroes by night.”

With the family already having a successful Facebook series in “Ball in the Family,” a cartoon could be a logical next step. But cartoons require a lot more people than running a reality television series does, making it a much more difficult task to complete.

But hardly anyone expected Big Baller Brand to be as big as it is now, even with the complications in the last year. And with a unique family that has three very successful basketball-playing sons, a cartoon could work.

LaVar Ball reveals dream plan of his three sons on Knicks coached by Mark Jackson

LaVar Ball revealed his dream scenario of his three sons landing on the New York Knicks while being coached by Mark Jackson.

LaVar Ball found his way back in front of a camera and back into the news cycle on Tuesday. The original Big Baller sat down with TMZ alongside Metta World Peace and Master P for a roundtable conversation.

While much of the conversation centered around all being African American fathers and fathers of up-and-coming basketball players, Ball still found his way into making an outlandish remark or two.

The end of the conversation veered toward Lonzo Ball’s current role with the Pelicans and current NBA discussions. After World Peace brought up Mark Jackson as a potential coach for the New York Knicks, Ball had the following to say:

“He’d be perfect for New York. He’d be perfect. You know why I say that? Because he from New York, he’s a point guard. Please pick my son first (in the draft). If he’s over there and getting my other two sons with Mark Jackson, he’s going to do the same thing he did in Golden State with my boys.”

There’s a lot to unpack. First, this would make the third or possibly fourth team Ball has dreamt that his sons would play on, starting with the Lakers before shifting to the Phoenix Suns and then the New Orleans Pelicans. Dreams can be hard to determine their true meaning of but maybe Ball is missing the, well, ball on his dreams.

The Knicks are a viable landing spot for LaMelo as they are currently tied for third in the draft lottery. Though it was recently revealed they never made the trip to Australia to scout Ball, the Knicks will have ample time to scout and work out Ball in the weeks leading up to the draft.

But as for the rest of the Ball family landing in New York, the logistics don’t need to be detailed once again. LiAngelo currently spends his time as a G League practice player for the Oklahoma City Blue. That is the highest level he has reached in his professional career.

Lonzo, meanwhile, is under contract with the Pelicans until at least the 2021-22 season, and that’s only if he turns down restricted free agency and accepted a one-year qualifying offer before entering unrestricted free agency.

Jackson has his own faults as well. While some, like LaVar, credit him for laying the groundwork of the Warriors’ franchise, it’s also worth noting that his departure nearly solely led to Golden State embarking on one of the greatest runs in league history over a multiple season span.

It’s all a very silly plan that is unlikely at best, which is about as far as LaVar’s plans go.

LaVar Ball doesn’t feel guilty about bringing Alan Foster into family

Despite being responsible for bringing him into the family, LaVar Ball recently stated he does not feel any guilt for Alan Foster’s alleged embezzlement.

For much of 2019, the Ball family found itself at odds in some capacity with one another. The turmoil stemmed from a report early in the year alleging Big Baller Brand co-founder Alan Foster of embezzling millions of dollars from Lonzo Ball.

That drove a wedge deep into the relationship between LaVar and his oldest and youngest sons, Lonzo and LaMelo. The two have since not committed to the future of Big Baller Brand, often being spotted in other brands for much of the last year.

Despite being the one responsible for bringing Foster into the family, LaVar does not feel guilty about the matter. In a recent interview with Fox Sports Australia, Ball talked about the matter.

“I don’t feel guilty at all. You can profit on so much stuff he took, or whatever, (but) we relaunching; we’re gonna have a new site. You can go to that and try to sell that stuff. After you sell all of that, then what? It’s fake. Nobody wants it. We’ve got our own thing going on with the Big Baller Brand and the original stuff, and that’s what we’re doing.”

The brand did have something resembling a soft relaunch in Australia recently. Though the company has talked about a more full-scale relaunch, nothing appears imminent.

The reason for that is neither Lonzo nor LaMelo, as previously mentioned, have committed to the brand going forward. In particular, LaMelo has been approached about launching his own brand within Big Baller Brand, similar to Lonzo’s ZO2 line, but has been hesitant to do so.

Still, LaVar showed confidence in his sons signing with the company and staying with the brand moving forward.

“I anticipate all my sons signing with Big Baller Brand. You don’t really have to sign with me; they’re already with me. Whether they do something else on their own, that’s them too. Either you’re gonna learn the hard way, or you’re gonna do it my way and understand there’s a reason I said (to) come in this league with your own brand, and do your own thing.”

In an episode of the family Facebook show “Ball in the Family” last season, Lonzo noted that he would give LaVar a year to get the brand going and succeeding again. Roughly six months into that timeline, LaVar hasn’t shown much progress to warrant Lonzo and LaMelo to commit to the company going forward.

But, to no one’s surprise, that hasn’t stopped LaVar and his unbridled, often unwarranted confidence.

LOOK: LaVar Ball sits courtside with Rich Paul at Pelicans game vs. Lakers

In his return to Staples Center on Friday, LaVar Ball was spotted on the sideline sitting next to Klutch Sports founder Rich Paul.

As Lonzo Ball and the fellow Baby Lakers made a return to Los Angeles in the first meeting on the road against the Lakers, so to did LaVar Ball make a triumphant reappearance. Once a fixture on the Staples Center sidelines, Ball’s appearances have been fewer and further between with sons across the country and globe.

On Friday, though, LaVar was back on the sideline and had an interesting neighbor to him in Klutch Sports founder Rich Paul.

Paul, who is also the famous agent of LeBron James, has had minimal public interaction with Ball in the past. The closest the two were connected recently involved speculation that Lonzo would sign with Klutch Sports early in 2019 after parting ways with then agent Harrison Gaines.

Pau has spoken highly of LaVar in the past as a father figure.

“I respect LaVar as a man, as a father. And I hope when my sons get older, I’m as passionate about them as he is about his.”

Both also have squared off with the NCAA in recent years. Paul was the assumed focus of a rule implemented by the NCAA regarding qualifications for agents to represent college athletes. LaVar, meanwhile, started up the JBA as a form of protest against the NCAA. Youngest son LaMelo also took a route through the National Basketball League in Australia largely amid speculation of eligibility concerns with the NCAA.

LaVar Ball re-launches Big Baller Brand with pop up shop in Australia

Big Baller Brand is back — at least that’s the case for basketball fans in Australia.

After a nine-month hiatus in the aftermath of a high-profile money-laundering scandal, Big Baller Brand is officially back. On Saturday, Big Baller Brand had its first pop up shop since July 6, when the brand was seen having a blowout sale at a local volleyball tournament.

While it’s unclear if Big Baller Brand is back to charging selling shoes for $400, they have new t-shirt designs with the same logo as before despite the fact that the brand has changed its name to Big Baller Brand Inc. What is new, though, is Big Baller Brand’s new slogan: “Family don’t break up.”

Here is a photo of the pop up shop, courtesy of Big Baller Brand:

During a recent interview on The Daily Telegraph Sport’s “The Big Chat,” LaVar — the brand’s CEO and co-founder — explained why he decided to re-launch the brand in Australia and not the United States:

“Usually, we would go and start this off in L.A. somewhere but I said, ‘You know what? Let’s start changing! Let’s go out to the land down under, Australia, and start.’ We’re the first ones to re-launch the triple B brand and guess what? This is the best place to do it.”

There’s still no word on whether Lonzo or LaMelo will be directly involved with the brand going forward, but the fact that the brand is being re-booted at all suggests that they might be. Expect a full-fledged re-launch in the new year.

LaVar Ball says JBA prepared LaMelo Ball for NBL

After his recent success in the NBL with Illawarra Hawks, LaVar Ball has credited the JBA for developing LaMelo into the player he is.

LaMelo Ball’s trip to the National Basketball League and the Illawarra Hawks was as unconventional as they come. After leaving high school prior to his junior year, Ball made stops in Lithuania, returned stateside to his father’s new league, the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), then joined the standout players from that team as part of a tour across Europe before opting to once again return stateside for a year with SPIRE Institute.

The stop in the JBA was unprecedented and, for many, a move that potentially cost Ball a year of development. Clearly the most talented player in the league, Ball was unchallenged and posted gaudy numbers throughout the team’s lone season. The trip overseas did little more to push Ball before he opted to return to America.

However, according to LaMelo’s father LaVar, the JBA served a much bigger role in preparing his son for his future stop in Australia, something he talked about during a recent interview in Australia.

“I had a league called the JBA, which … I primed him to do like this. We played in different countries, against older guys, so this is nothing new when I see him get these triple-doubles now. He was doing that in my league but people was throwing that to the side ‘cause they said, ‘Oh, he’s playing for his dad. It don’t count.’”

While everything LaVar stated is true, the difference in playing second division teams in small European countries and NBL teams is drastic. It’s impressive that LaMelo is still considered a top-tier prospect despite the detour.

It’s also not a surprise to see LaVar taking credit for Ball’s success. In reality, LaMelo has exceeded in spite of LaVar’s JBA, not because of it.
