Steelers vs Ravens inactives: No Mike Hilton again for Pittsburgh

Taking a look at the inactives for this week, the Steelers are missing a couple of key players on defense.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are heading into the next biggest game of the year shorthanded. The Steelers announced their inactives for Sunday’s game with the Baltimore Ravens and the big name on the list is cornerback Mike Hilton.

This will be the second-straight game missed for Hilton. Hilton is such a key for the Steelers in the nickel spot as he’s adept in all areas on defense. His ability to stuff the run and blitz is what makes him unique on the roster. In his place, look for Cameron Sutton to once again get a heavy workload.

Passing downs got even more complicated with the inclusion of linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III on the inactives list. Gilbert did good work last week in passing situations and with him out the team will need to decide if they can trust Robert Spillane to take on those reps or will we finally see Marcus Allen get his first snaps at linebacker?

For the Ravens, the big name to watch is running back Mark Ingram. This means Pittsburgh will get a heavy dose of speedy rookie J.K. Dobbins.

Steelers vs Titans inactives: No surprises among inactives this week

Here are your inactives for this week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced their inactives for this week’s game against the Tennessee Titans and there were no real surprises. We already knew fullback Derek Watt and cornerback Mike Hilton were OUT for this week’s game.

QB Joshua Dobbs

CB Mike Hilton

FB Derek Watt

DL Carlos Davis

OL Derwin Gray

TE Zach Gentry

DL Isaiah Buggs

The Steelers promoted defensive lineman Henry Mondeaux to the active roster this week from the practice squad and he will play today. This is somewhat surprising given Isaiah Buggs and Carlos Davis have both been on the active roster this season but didn’t get the call.

Also no big surprises among the Titans inactives this week. They lost starting left tackle Taylor Lewan to an ACL injury last week.

OLB Derick Roberson

LB David Long Jr.

OT Isaiah Wilson

DT Matt Dickerson

DB Joshua Kalu

OL Daniel Munyer

The Steelers elevated running back Trey Edmunds to the 53-man roster this week to help fill in the void on special teams. It’s good to see running back Anthony McFarland Jr. looks to be getting a helmet on game day going forward after a strong performance against the Houston Texans.

Steelers vs Texans inactives: RB Anthony McFarland active for Pittsburgh

The inactives for today’s game are out.

For the second week in a row, the Pittsburgh Steelers are hedging their bets at the running back position by having four active running backs and a fullback. The Steelers are set to square off with the Houston Texans and both teams have revealed their inactives for the game.

Pittsburgh has the usual suspects on their inactive list. The return of guard David DeCastro means Derwin Gray won’t dress for the game and once again fan-favorite linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III is inactive.

For the Texans, nose tackle Ross Blacklock is the one name that stands out. Blacklock was ejected last week for throwing a punch and is a healthy scratch this week, presumably as some sort of punishment.

Steelers vs Jets inactives: WR JuJu Smith-Schuster is active

The Steelers inactives don’t have WR JuJu Smith-Schuster.

According to the inactives, the Pittsburgh Steelers will have wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster back in the lineup when they take on the New York Jets today. Smith-Schuster had missed the previous four games with a knee injury but with the season on the line, the team’s best wide receiver is back.

The only surprise on this week’s list is listing safety Marcus Allen as inactive. Allen was promoted from the practice squad this week to replace Kam Kelly who was released this week after an arrest. With Allen inactive it looks like Jordan Dangerfield will be the primary reserve safety. Also, don’t be shocked to see some Cam Sutton in sub-packages as a third safety.

Steelers vs Cardinals inactives: No surprises for Pittsburgh

The Steelers will be down two offensive starters for the third straight game.

There are no surprises among the Pittsburgh Steelers inactives this week. As the Steelers prepare to take on the Arizona Cardinals, they will once again be without running back James Conner and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. This is starting to feel like old news as this will mark the third straight game the two have missed.

It will once again be running back Benny Snell Jr. and wide receiver James Washington playing the roles of No. 1s at their respective positions.

Other inactives of note for Pittsburgh are cornerback Artie Burns and offensive tackle Chuks Okorafor.

For the Cardinals, they are coming into the game at full health. Based on their list, every one of their inactives are healthy scratches. Here are the Cardinals inactives.

  • WR KeeSean Johnson
  • CB Jalen Davis
  • S Deionte Thompson
  • LB Kylie Fitts
  • OL Lamont Gaillard
  • OL Joshua Miles
  • TE Dan Arnold

Luckily the Steelers will have wide receiver Diontae Johnson who was cleared from concussion protocol. Pittsburgh also gets running back Benny Snell Jr. back this week but it’s hard to predict how effective he will be after a month out with a knee injury.
