Penn State a slight favorite vs. Furman in Charleston Classic

Penn State is a slight favorite against Furman in the Charleston Classic opener according to BetMGM

Penn State men’s basketball is on the road for the first time this season as they take part in this year’s Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic. The first matchup of the extended weekend down in South Carolina will be played Thursday morning against Furman from the Southern Conference.

According to the gameday odds from BetMGM, the Nittany Lions are listed as a 2.5-point favorite. Penn State’s hot start to the season with wins over Winthrop, Loyola, and Butler have been fueled by a mix of good defense and some hot three-point shooting.  Penn State could be in for a bit of a shootout in this one, however, because Furman is averaging just over 90 points per game in their first two games of the season as well.

Here is how to watch Penn State’s game vs. Furman and here is the full Charleston Classic schedule for the weekend.

Here is a look at the odds for Thursday’s Charleston Classic opener.

Cavs vs. Bucks: Lineups, betting odds, injuries, TV info for Wednesday

Here is all of the information you need to know for the Cavaliers and Bucks on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the Milwaukee Bucks (10-3) host the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-5), and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.

The Bucks have lost three out of their last four since starting 9-0 this season. The team was without Giannis Antetokounmpo due to knee soreness in two of those games, along with Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton, who have yet to debut this season. Antetokounmpo had 27 points in his return on Monday versus Atlanta.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have dropped four straight after an 8-1 start. Darius Garland produced a career-high 51 points his last time out on Sunday in a 129-124 loss to Minnesota. He nearly led Cleveland back from a 24-point deficit after scoring 27 points alone in the fourth quarter. The Cavs are again expected to be without Jarrett Allen due to an illness.

Rockets at Mavs (Nov. 16): Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

Even on night two of a back-to-back, Luka Doncic and the Mavericks (8-5) are big favorites (-9.5) at home versus Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and the struggling Rockets (2-12).

In the first matchup pitting Christian Wood against his former team, the Houston Rockets (2-12) travel to Dallas for Wednesday night’s divisional showdown against the Mavericks (8-5). It’s the first meeting of the 2022-23 NBA season between the Texas rivals.

If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research for the Rockets-Mavs clash, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at BetMGM.

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. Central and can be seen via AT&T SportsNet Southwest (in Houston markets) or on NBA League Pass.

From a Rockets perspective, part of the apparent motivation for trading Wood to Dallas in June was to open up more playing time for promising second-year center Alperen Sengun. To this point, Sengun has justified that confidence, as evidenced by his averages of 16.1 points (57.4% FG) and 8.7 rebounds in 26.5 minutes.

Yet, even with those gaudy numbers, the Rockets are an NBA worst 2-12 as a team. The Mavericks, on the other hand, are 7-5 and again in strong position for an eventual spot in the 2023 playoffs. It helps to have perennial MVP candidate Luka Doncic leading the way.

Rockets at Mavericks injury report:

  • Rockets: Jae’Sean Tate out (right ankle soreness), Bruno Fernando out (left knee soreness), Jalen Green questionable (right shoulder soreness)
  • Mavericks: TBD; Tuesday’s injury report for night one of the back-to-back listed Davis Bertans as out (right knee effusion)

Expected Lineups

Advice and prediction

If there’s any silver lining for Sengun, Jalen Green, and the rest of the Rockets, it could be that Dallas is on night two of a back-to-back after facing the Clippers on Tuesday. The Rockets, on the other hand, haven’t played since losing to Los Angeles on Monday.

On the other hand, the Rockets are struggling mightily, and Wood will undoubtedly be looking to make a statement against the team that traded him away five months ago. It’s hard to have confidence in the Rockets, given their recent form on both ends of the court.

Prediction: Mavericks 117, Rockets 105

Commanders open as favorites over Texans in Week 11

The Commanders can’t afford a letdown in Week 11 against the Houston Texans.

The Washington Commanders knocked the Philadelphia Eagles out of the unbeaten ranks with an impressive 32-21 victory on Monday Night Football.

Now, with a short week, Washington must turn its attention to the Houston Texans. In addition, after playing on the road Monday night, the Commanders are back on the road in Week 11 at Houston.

On paper, the Texans look like a perfect opponent for the Commanders. Houston is 1-7-1 on the season, with its lone win over Jacksonville. Houston’s tie came against the Colts. The Jaguars and Colts represent two of Washington’s five wins.

Can the Commanders get back over .500 for the first time since Week 1?

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Commanders open Week 11 as three-point favorites over the Texans.

Here’s a look at the opening lines for Sunday’s battle in Houston:

Knicks vs. Jazz: Lineups, betting odds, injuries, TV info for Tuesday

On Tuesday, the Utah Jazz (10-5) host the New York Knicks (6-7), and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.

The Jazz have lost two straight games after falling to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Utah, despite ranking ninth in defense, gave up 59 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and seven blocks to Joel Embiid, who became the first player ever to reach that stat line in a game.

NBA Power Rankings: Celtics take top spot behind high-octane offense

Meanwhile, the Knicks have alternated wins and losses since Nov. 4 after losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. New York allowed OKC to score its most points in a game since January 2018 as Josh Giddey led the Thunder with his first triple-double of the year.

Early odds favor Ohio State by wide margin over Maryland

Early odds favor #Tipico Ohio State by wide margin over Maryland #GoBucks

It’s that time of the week when we get the early odds for the college football games that will take place this weekend, and if you found our site or are a loyal reader, we’re sure you are interested in what the line has been set for Ohio State football’s matchup with Maryland on Saturday.

As you would imagine, Ohio State is favored very heavily against one of the more unique teams in the Big Ten. We get our odds from Tipico, and the popular online sportsbook has the early odds with Ohio State being a massive 27.5-point favorite.

The total for the over/under has been set at 64.5-points, which seems a bit low, considering they expect the Buckeyes to win by approximately 28 points. Still, perhaps they expect Ohio State to suffocate the Maryland offense, but this is a Terrapin offense with enough skill to make things difficult for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State and Maryland are set to kick things off at 3:30 PM ET on ABC. We’ll continue to monitor the spread on this one if it changes either way.

UNC’s Drake Maye is among the four best odds to win the Heisman

Drake Maye is “quietly” having a Heisman Trophy-contending season. It’s time for the national media to catch up.

Through the first 12 weeks of the college football season, all the Heisman Trophy discussions have been aimed at CJ Stroud, Caleb Williams, Hendon Hooker, and more recently Bo Nix.

However, North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Drake Maye is having a monster season. The redshirt freshman from Charlotte has been outperforming all of them. Maye is leading the nation in touchdown passes and second in yards.

Perhaps the game against Notre Dame, where UNC fell to the Irish has been keeping him out of the national discussion. In that game, all Maye did was throw for 301 yards and 5 touchdowns. Hard to knock him for that performance.

With just two weeks left in the regular season and three weeks before the ACC title game against Clemson, we broke down the top six Heisman Trophy contenders based on their odds to win it per Tipico Sportsbook.

Chiefs open as road favorites over Chargers in Week 11

The #Chiefs are favored against the #Chargers in their flexed “Sunday Night Football” matchup in Week 11.

The Kansas City Chiefs have opened as road favorites over the Los Angeles Chargers on their upcoming “Sunday Night Football” game in Week 11.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, Kansas City (7-2) are 7-point favorites over Los Angeles (5-4) next Sunday. The over/under point total is set at 49.5 points scored. The money line is now -310 for the Chiefs, giving K.C. a 75.61% implied win probability. Keep in mind this Kansas City team is now 3-5-1 against the spread this season and they’re also 4-5 on the over/under point total.

It’s not too surprising to see Kansas City favored here. The Chargers haven’t scored more than 23 points in a game in over a month. They’re going to come into this game desperate for a win after dropping a winnable game to the 49ers in Week 10.

A loss could effectively eliminate Los Angeles from playoff contention or at the very least a shot at the AFC West lead. A win for the Chiefs would give them a three-game lead on the division with matchups with the Broncos (x2), Raiders and Texans in the final seven games of the season.

It’s unclear if the Chargers will have either Keenan Allen or Mike Williams available for this game, but the Chiefs could also be without Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster. It might come down to who has the better backup receivers when it comes to determining the winner of this pivotal AFC West matchup.

UNC football vs. Georgia Tech opening betting odds

The betting odds for Saturday’s showdown between UNC and Georgia Tech have been released with the Tar Heels as 20.5-point favorites.

The 9-1 North Carolina Tar Heels open up as massive 20.5- favorites over 4-6 Georgia Tech.

The odds paint the picture of both teams’ seasons so far. UNC has strung together an impressive six-game win streak, recently squeezing by Wake Forest for a nail-biting 36-34 win. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech is coming off a 35-14 home loss to the Miami Hurricanes.

This meeting could be another statement game delivered by UNC as the regular season dwindles. They have finally climbed the rankings of the Associated Press’s Top 25 Poll, moving up to 13th on the list. However, if they want a chance to sniff playoffs, barely beating Georgia Tech will not move that needle.

North Carolina must dominate Saturday, and covering the 20.5- spread can ensure that.

The early game day betting lines for Clemson vs. Miami

Here’s a look at the updated odds for Clemson’s matchup with Miami.

Starting the 2022 college football season 9-1 (7-0 ACC), Dabo Swinney and the Tigers had a nice recovery win this Saturday as the team took down a hot Louisville team 31-16 in Death Valley.

It was the closest we’ve seen the Tigers put together a complete game yet, as both Clemson’s offense and defense were solid in the win. Clemson will head back home this week to take on a Miami team who has struggled a ton this season.

For the 11th straight game this season, Clemson will enter their Saturday game as the betting favorite.

Wondering what the lines are looking like for the Tigers’ matchup with the Hurricanes? We’ve got you covered with a look at all MGM Sportsbook’s lines for Clemson’s Week 11 game.

  • Point spread: Clemson -19.5
  • Clemson moneyline: N/A
  • Louisville moneyline: N/A
  • Over/Under: 46.5
